Friendly Technologies Joins the Open Mobile Alliance

Friendly’s Mobile device management leverages OMA standards to accelerate the deployment of 4G LTE & WiMAX networks

Ramat-Gan, Israel (June 20, 2013) – Friendly Technologies, a leading provider of optimized device management solutions for fixed and mobile operators, is delighted to announce that it has joined the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA), the leading industry forum for developing market-driven, interoperable mobile service enablers. As a member of OMA, the company will have the opportunity to participate in OMA’s standards-building process (see www.openmobilealliance.org).

Formed in June 2002 by the world’s leading mobile operators, device and network suppliers, information technology companies, and content and service providers, OMA defines wireless industry standards to create interoperable services that work across all geographical boundaries, on any bearer network. OMA develops specifications that support billions of new and existing fixed and mobile terminals across a variety of mobile networks.

By joining OMA, Friendly’s further strengthens its position as a mobile device management vendor, with a unified solution that addresses both fixed and mobile devices. Friendly’s solution accelerates and simplifies the deployment of 4G LTE devices and services, supporting any device type over TR-069 and OMA-DM protocols including fixed and nomadic LTE devices, mobile smartphone devices, with FDD LTE and TDD LTE in any spectrum.

“We are delighted to join the OMA family. We expect to leverage our field experience and know-how to actively impact the evolution of the mobile market,” said Nir Ezer, VP of Sales and Marketing at Friendly Technologies. “Many of our WiMAX customers around the world are moving to LTE. Our open and standard-based approach enables smooth migration from WiMAX to LTE networks, as well as accelerating the deployment of greenfield 4G LTE networks.”

“Friendly Technologies brings to OMA a deep knowledge of the industry − knowledge that is crucial to the success of OMA’s mission,” stated Seth Newberry, General Manager at OMA. “The input and support of industry leaders like Friendly Technologies are what allows the OMA to deliver open specifications that drive interoperability and market reach across devices, geographies, and networks.”

Friendly’s industry-leading solution will be demonstrated this week at CommunicAsia2013 Singapore, booth 1E2-01.
